Like most small towns, Max has a number of established families who have had members residing and making their livings in the community for generations. However, Max also serves as home to many "newcomers". Agriculture and other local businesses have brought an influx of people to the area. In addition, being so close to Minot, Garrison, Falkirk Mine, and other significant employers, Max serves as a quiet, friendly place for many who work elsewhere to come home to. Outdoor recreation and lake country, as well as a positive economic climate also contribute to what makes Max such a great place to live.
