OverDrive/Library2Go Directions
Either use the OverDrive link below, go to Max Community Library's home page at http://www.maxnd.com/library.html and look for the OverDrive icon, or go directly to http://ndlibrary2go.lib.overdrive.com/. This will take you to the North Dakota Digital Consortium (Library2Go) library of items available for downloading to your computer or digital device. (Click here for a list of compatible audio or eBook devices. Kindle is not currently supported, but will be in the near future.)
What you need:
- A valid Max Community Library account
- An internet connection
- Free, required software available on the Library2Go website
(For your eBook reader you need Adobe Digital Editions, and OverDrive Media Console; for your Apple iPod and MP3 players, you must have iTunes v9.1 or newer downloaded)
You only need to download and install these ONCE!
How it works:
- Search by title, author, or format and choose the item you want.
- Add the selection to your “cart” (if the item is not available, you can place a hold and receive an email when the title is available).
- Click on the “proceed to checkout” link, choose McLean-Mercer Regional Library, and enter your library card number.
- Download and enjoy…click the “download" button under each title to launch the software.
Remember, you must have downloaded the required software on your computer.
Transfer to your device:
- Audio & video – click the transfer button on the OverDrive Media Console to launch the Transfer Wizard and follow the onscreen prompts.
- For eBooks in Adobe Digital Editions, drag and drop the title onto your device’s name on the left panel. You can then disconnect your device and enjoy your title on the go.
- Some items can be burned to a CD. Click the “burn” button in Overdrive Media Console and launch the Burn Wizard. Select what you want to burn. When the process is complete, you can enjoy your title on the go.
