There was a very good crowd at Wayne Douglas Kabanuck’s concert in Garrison this past Friday. He was given a standing ovation! Thankyou, Wayne, for making our community proud!!

Max’s annual Santa Day was also well attended. Max Centennial Celebration promotional items were for sale and sales were very good! There are now ornaments and folding can holders available, besides the two styles of shirts and two styles of Afghans. Contact Linda Haynes at 679-2563.

The Max School Christmas program is over but many have grandchildren and family in other schools and churches so there are always programs to go to! This past Sunday evening, Eugene and Margaret Zaderaka enjoyed taking in the First Baptist Church choir and orchestra concert. It is always so nice to see our own former Maxite, Sharon Yancey Strube conducting but this year we also enjoyed having our son, Dean, in the orchestra, playing the same trombone he played at the Max High School!!

Open adult volleyball continues each Sunday evening at the Max School Gym at 7 p.m.

This Monday evening comes to a close after ‘taking part’ in the Lorie Line concert in Minot! She had everyone ringing bells, clapping, and of course laughing! Your news correspondent was stunned to hear they had chosen “Grandma Margaret” to come on stage to take part in one of the songs with all the children in the audience, including two of our own. Fortunately for me, it was a Grandma Margaret from Kenmare who lives on a farm and uses ‘green’ machinery!

Reminder, the Max Library now closes at 5:30 on Mondays, as they also do on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
