Among things discussed, this is the tenth year for the Max Plunge with the Dr. Pepper Can. Hopes are to have the can on a float to take part in the North Dakota State Fair Parade this summer. Tickets are on sale now. Again you can get three guesses as to when the can will fall through the ice, for $5.00. Prizes are: First $500; Second $250; Third $100 in Max Bucks; and Fourth a year’s supply of pop or $50. There will be no more ticket sales after March 15th. and you have a better chance of winning if you buy and guess early! The Dr. Pepper Can went through the ice on April 14th., at 3:41 P.M. last year. The Max Enterprise Annual Meeting will be held on March 15th., at 7:30. If you have ideas for the community, please come to this meeting with those ideas! The Max Senior Center is now open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, not on Monday as before. So I will be picking up any Max News from their box on Thursday afternoons. I have another box at Bremer Bank and will take news from that box on Monday afternoons, just before I send it to the McLean County Independent for that week’s publication. So please feel free to leave news in either box. Just a reminder to bring in donations for prizes to the Max Library, for them to use as incentives to keep the children reading all summer long. Don’t forget to get your recipes to the library too, for their Centennial Cookbook. And, start planning your vacations around the Max Centennial that will take place on June 30, July 1, and 2nd., 2006. There will be another Centennial meeting coming up. Have you done your ‘homework’ to report at the meeting? “Creativity is God’s gift to you. What you do with it is your
gift to God.” Bob Moawad |
