A longtime resident of our community, Mabel Helgeson, passed away in Minot’s Trinity Hospital. Our sympathy to the family.

For Maxites who have moved away and just moved to warmer weather for the winter months, here is what it is like in Max right now. The city streets are lined with three-foot snow banks and even higher snow banks grace the sides of residents’ driveways.

In the country, winter wonderland has now filled the ditches and in some areas, there are “cuts” in the snow so vehicles can travel. There is no soil to be seen in the fields of white.

Temperatures have improved from our minus 61-degree wind chill of last week. Daytime temperatures have to really work to make it above the zero mark, but nighttime temperatures have no trouble falling to the minus 30-windchill reading.

Think “warm” and come to the Max Centennial All School Reunion, June 30th., July 1 and 2 of 2006.
