Max News 2-23-04 Little baby girl Breanna was born to Darren and Megan Olson on Feb. 7th. She weighed 7# and 1 oz. Breanna has a big brother, Devon, at home to help take care of her. Her Grandparents are John and Lynette Olson of Max and Geri Zeigler and Charles Amendt of the Minot Air Force Base. Great Grandparents are Francis Krebsbach and Robert and Torres Olson, all of Max. Dwight Mack’s father, George Mack, of Pettibone passed away on Saturday. His funeral will be Friday. Our sympathy to Dwight and his family. DeeOn’s father’s funeral was on this past Friday in Robinson, North Dakota. Charlotte Madsen’s daughter, Margaret Bentz was here for the week-end. Margaret is from Bismarck. Charlotte’s son, Clarence, from Garrison brought her a television, after hers went out. Charlotte fell and sprained her ankle while walking outside on Monday but someone was right there to help her up and get her home. She said it is wonderful how people help other people out. Elaine Kohler visited her sister, Harriet Evenson at Manor Care in Minot on Friday. While there she also visited some with George Huettl. We extend our sympathy to Lauri and Tom Kohler and their family. Lauri’s Dad, Roger Christ of Burlington, passed away unexpectedly. The Civic Club Steak Fry was held last Wednesday evening, after being postponed because of the weather. Susan Moreno is the new President and Susan Halverson is the new Secretary/Treasurer. It was decided to keep Civic Club going and they hope to have another dinner to help keep up the interest. Sunday’s potluck benefit for the Schwan family was well attended with more than enough food brought in. Thank you to all who took part. Reminder: The Library still needs recipes for their Centennial Cookbook. And they would still like toys etc. donated to use for their Summer Reading Program for the area children. Fred Zaderaka is a patient in St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Illinois with bleeding in his brain. He underwent surgery Sunday morning to put in a drain tube and was responding quite well. Fred is Eugene Zaderaka’s brother. Fred lives in Carlisle, Iowa but was on his way to his late wife’s brother’s funeral when he became ill. “It’s not how much you have that makes people look up to you. It’s who you are.” Elvis Presley
