Several dozen attended the World Day of Prayer Service held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Max on Friday evening, March 5th. Ernie Yuzicapi from Minot sang and played his guitar for several special numbers. Ernie is blind. Karen Polsfut brought Ernie and Martha Rovenko down from Minot and returned them to their apartments after the fellowship time.

It was so good seeing Leona Guttormson at the service. She has been staying in Bismarck, following major surgery.

Mary Lushenko recently returned from Jacksonville, Fl. after an extended visit with her daughter, Shirley and her husband, John Sizemore, and their children. While in Jacksonville, Mary visited with her newest Great-Granddaughter, Lillie Joy, born Dec. 9th. to Adrienne and Bryan McNeely and witnessed Lillie’s christening on Feb. 29th. Her seven other Great-Grandchildren live nearby so she had a great time babysitting them from time to time and spending time with their parents, her Grandchildren. Shirley accompanied her Mother to Max and will be returning to Florida on March 16th. Welcome home, Mary and Shirley.

The Max Library still needs recipes for their Centennial cookbook. Also, any useful hints are needed for the cookbook too. They are still in need of good used or even new toys etc. to use for the Summer Reading Program. Grandmas….check your toybox! The Library will be having their Preschool Story Hour at 10:30 this next Thursday, March 18th.

Monday, March 15th., at 7:30 is the Max Community Enterprise Annual Meeting at the Civic Center.

Monday, March 22nd, at 8:00 is the Max Rural Fire Protection District Annual Meeting, at the Max Fire Hall. Directors will be elected and lunch will be served. Prizes will also be given.

The Max Public School Student Council is selling daffodils to raise money for the American Cancer Society. These will be available until the end of March and sell for $6 per bunch of 10. Contact any Student Council Member or the Max Public School at 679-2685.

Remember to buy your raffle tickets from any Max Senior Citizen so our Center can remain open.
