Eugene Zaderaka and his sons, Dean and Mark, along with Mark’s wife and children, left on Friday for Carlisle, Iowa to attend Eugene’s brother’s funeral. Fred Zaderaka was 82 years old. Fred had successfully gone through a serious surgery the day before, but then passed away from a heart attack the following morning. Fred is survived by 3 sons, 2 daughters, 14 grandchildren, 3 sisters, and his only brother Eugene. He was preceded in death by his wife, one grandson, and his two sisters, Olga and Rose, and his parents, Mike and Mary of Max.

Elaine Kohler had knee surgery last week. We wish Elaine a speedy recovery.

The Max Senior Center will be having Older Americans’ Day on Saturday, May 8th. There will be free pie and coffee from 10 – 4, also a bake sale during that time, and Kyle’s Greenhouse will be there then too. They are selling raffle tickets and the drawing for those prizes will be held at 3 P.M. on the 8th. Volunteer awards will be awarded at 2 P.M.

This Friday, the 16th, the school play, “A Simple Task”, will be performed at 7 P.M.

This Sunday, the 18th, Immaculate Conception Church in Max is having their spaghetti dinner from 11:30 to 2:00 P.M.

Next Thursday, the 22nd, the POPS concert will be held at the school at 7:30.
