Many from the Max and Minot area attended the funeral of Glenn Olson on Saturday at the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison. Glenn and Joan Olson once lived in Max. Glenn had been a resident in the Living Center for many years, after suffering a stroke shortly after they moved from Max into an apartment in Garrison. Joan passed away from cancer. Their daughter, Desty Shoemaker and many cousins from Minot enjoyed time together after reviewal Friday evening, at the Robin’s Nest, where Joann Rauh hosted a supper for them. Desty’s cousins on her Dad’s side came from Jamestown, Bismarck, and Minot, for the funeral. Glenn had just turned 79 on May 6 th. Many of you may remember his beautiful yard and garden at their Max home. He is going to be missed. Our sympathy to Desty and her husband, Steve, and young daughters. Their daughter Claire is now 2 and a half years old but was only 50 days old when Grandma Joan passed away. Their second daughter Lindsey was just 50 days old when Grandpa Glenn passed away. “Another Old Timer Is Gone.” “Of all nature’s gifts to the human race, what is sweeter to a man than his children.” Marcus Tillius Cicero |
