Max News 8-30-04 Sunday, September 12 th at 2:00, there will be an Alumni meeting at the school in Max. Monday, September 20 th at 7:30, there will be a Centennial Planning meeting at the Civic Center in Max. The Promotions Committee has had several impromptu meetings to finalize the ordering of denim shirts with the Centennial logo and also the ordering of the Afghans that will have ten pictures of Max on them, including the logo. There are two different styles of Afghans coming so there will be two different prices. The shirts should be available in a couple of weeks and the Afghans will be available in a couple of months, just in time for Christmas gifts! Announcements will be made when these souvenir items, and others, are available and how to obtain them. They will be available through the Max web-site also. Have you noticed the very beautiful new sign with the Centennial logo, as you enter Max from Highway #83? We need everyone’s help to get the city as beautiful as the sign, for its 100 th birthday! Several people brought birthday wishes to Lorna Sambor on Friday. Marlin Strilcov visited with Lorna on Monday. Connie Sambor came from MN to spend time with her Mother, and while home, took part in a Promotions committee meeting, as Connie designed the logo for her home town’s centennial celebration. Visitors this past week with Lila Fannik have been Sharon Kolle and Carol Kratzke of Vergas, MN. Sandra (Narum) Thornton, Nick, and Emily of St. Cloud, MN also visited with Lila, along with Dan Flath and Linda Feldner of Minot. Others visiting with Lila were Ivadell and Orlan Larson of Washburn and DeeOn Mack of Max. The Senior Citizens’ held their potluck supper on Friday evening.
