Joel McElwain of Beaumont, Texas was home over a week ago, for 9 days. He was hoping to help John with some combining but the weather did not cooperate but they did get a lot of other work done before he left on Sunday afternoon.

Gary and Sharon Moore, formerly of Max, are in Texas for the funeral of their 13 year old grandson, Zack. Zack is Trina Moore’s son. Zack and his father, Travis, were in a motorcycle accident. Travis has been discharged and is at home now with his wife, Trina. Their address is: Travis and Trina Martin; 28819 Pine Forest Drive; Magnolia, Texas 77355.

Max Senior Citizens will be having their monthly meeting this Friday, 10 th, at 2:00 at the Center.

Monday, the 13 th, is Civic Club at 7:00 P.M. Remember to purchase your $1.00 50/50 tickets and then come to the meeting to see if you won.

Monday, the 20 th, is another Centennial Planning meeting at 7:30. The denim shirts may even be available for purchase at that meeting.

In the July 14, 1966 issue of the McLean County Independent, Cunningham Department Store in Garrison had their 25 cent work gloves on sale for 9 cents!
