Brytin is Shawna and Bryce’s wee son who came into the world much too soon, but surprised everyone and came home much earlier than expected. Brytin is doing really good. He is named after his Daddy and his late Grandfather Justin Atwood. His middle name is from his late Great Grandfather Joseph Coughlin. Brytin has an eleven year old sister, Taylor, at home to help care for him. His Grandparents are JoAnn and Donald Hauf of Max and Joyce Atwood and the late Justin Atwood from Tolley. Great Grandparents are Erna Hauf of Garrison and the late Paul Hauf and Treaesa Coughlin and the late Joseph Coughlin of Fargo. There will be a baby shower for Shawna and Brytin on Saturday, September 25 th, at 2:00 P.M. at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Max. Everyone is welcome. The next day, Sunday, September 26 th, from 2 – 4 P.M., Brytin’s Great Grandmother Erna Hauf will celebrate her 90 th birthday at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. There was a good turn out and the silent auction went very well, with a lot of lovely donated products and gifts. These little girls were burned in a car fire by the Radar Base north of Max on July 5 th. They are the Great Granddaughters of Florene and Maurice Knudtson of Douglas. Many know Florene from her working at Grandma’s Kitchen and now at the Wrangler Café. On Friday Delores Baklenko of Benedict and Lila Fannik of Max attended the North Dakota Women’s Christian Temperance Union Convention in Bismarck. This was held at the Salvation Army Headquarters. Marsha Limke of the North Dakota Department of Transportation and Director of Drivers’ License and Safety spoke and answered questions. She stated they want to make our highways safer and save lives. Many years ago the W.C.T.U. requested to have the yellow line down the middle of the road, which has saved many lives, in itself. At the recent Civic Club meeting it was discussed making a float to take to the Garrison Centennial parade and other surrounding communities celebrating their centennials the summer of 2005.
