Max News 9-20-04 This coming Saturday, September 25 th, is the baby shower for Shawna and Brytin Hauf. This will be held at 2:00 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Max. Everyone is welcome. Then the next day, Sunday, September 26 th, Brytin’s Great Grandmother, Erna Hauf, will be celebrating her 90 th birthday from 2 to 4 P.M. at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. Please, no gifts. Everyone is welcome. Tickets for the October 30 th, Civic Club Steak Fry are available now for $15.00 each. Serving will be from 5 to 8 P.M. with Wayne (Kabanuck) Douglas performing. Attend the October 11 th Civic Club meeting for more information on the steak fry. The Sunnyslope Homemakers had an outing to the Edward’s home at Butte. This is the family that joins together to make magnets etc., under the name of “Mother of Eight”. Their son, Teddy, played his accordion while the homemakers enjoyed coffee and cookies. There were 8 members from Max and Minot that were able to go. Several dozen attended the Centennial meeting in Max Monday evening. Committee reports were given and revised committee members listed. Kathy Huettl discussed the history book, size, cost, and type of binding. She needs write-ups on businesses and homes. You may obtain forms to help in writing up this information, from Kathy. To find out if you are on a committee, check Centennial on the Max web-site; www.maxnd.com The Centennial Kick-Off Fundraiser will be held Saturday evening, November 27 th, 2004 at the Civic Center in Max. The Chili Feed will begin at 5:30 with Bingo being played from 7 to 9 P.M. Around 9 P.M. the Dart Tournament will begin, possible Pull-tabs, open bar, and raffles will round out the evening. Tickets to this event at $10.00 each, which includes free chili; and a chance to win $50.00 at a drawing that will be made every month on the 3 rd. Monday of each month, for ten months. If you want to attend but not purchase the $10.00 ticket, you may pay the $5.00 admittance fee at the door that evening. The final drawings will be held in November of 2005 following Thanksgiving. There will be three drawings with first place receiving $500.00; second place receiving $250.00; and third place receiving $50.00. You do not need to be present for any of these drawings. Anyone out of town or out of state may purchase tickets also. More information on how to obtain them will be in next week’s Max News.
