Tonight, Thursday, the Rushville Farmers Union Local annual meeting will be held at 7:00 at Lila Fannik's home in Max. There will an election of officers and delegates to State Convention in Minot will be selected.

This Sunday, December 4th. there will be a noon potluck at the Max Civic Center to help Marion Kohler Schmaltz with her medical expenses. This is being subsidized by McLean County Chapter Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. If you would prefer, you may send your check to P.O. Box #235; Max, N.D. 58759-0235. Santa arrives in Max on Saturday, December 10th. Serving of french toast and ham will begin at 9:30 with sleigh or wagon rides, the Praise Band, the McGruff Mugs and Hugs Child ID program, and the arrival of Santa to follow! This is being sponsored by Bremer Bank and the Max Civic Club. For more information, please contact Bremer Bank at 679-2697. Max Centennial souvenirs will be available for purchase during this event too.

The full color and two color afghans that are left, is all there will be! We won't be ordering anymore. With the Centennial Celebration coming closer with each day, please get your alumni pictures into Colleen Jungling Johnson now, if you want them in the alumni book. Colleen will return them to you when she is finished. Her address is P.O. Box #238 in Max. And again, get your family and business histories in for the History book and your recipes and hints for the Recipe book.

Help is needed in finding out information on our Legion Post. Records show it was once Post 67 and then changed to Post 241 in 1929. It was Post 67 when it was chartered in 1919. Does anyone know why it was changed? You may mail any information to the Centennial mailing address of P.O. Box #81 or e-mail me at emz@rtc.coop and I will make sure it gets to the correct people. Raymond Iverson is in charge of this history.This is information they need for that.

Thanksgiving Day dinner and 90th birthday party for Elmer Dvirnak was held at Deb and Monty Greenup's home in Dickinson. All of Elmer's and Kay's children were there. Son Wayne and Ingrid of Colorado; Deb and Monte of Dickinson; and son Tim and Sally of Killdeer. Five grandchildren were able to be there.

Those from Max who attended were Edward Fannik; Delvin, Kristy, and Emily Fannik; Lila Fannik; Carolyn, Robert and Will Barden; Dennis, Karla, Shawna and Casey Fannik; and Vonette and Mark along with Marissa and Travor Mehlhoff of Arena. Several other relatives were also there. It was a beautiful day and the roads were good. We had a wonderful time together.

Dwight and DeeOn Mack spent Thanksgiving in Mandan with their son DeWitt and his family.

Mack's son Darren, Tonya, Erin and Joshua from Detroit Lakes, MN were at the Mack's for a few days, along with Tonya's brother, Darron Lee from Mpls.
