Congratulations to Chad and Brandi Haugeberg on the birth of their daughter, Chloie Nicole. Cholie was born on October 27. Chad, Brandi and big brother Easton live in Everett, WA. Grandparents are Richard and Sheryl Haugeberg of Max. Great grandparents are Don and Jeannette Haugeberg of Max and Melvin and Doris Anderson of Minot. Congratulations to all of you! DeWitt, Pam, Dwight J, Shaylynn and Casey Mack and friend Britini Zander of Mandan stopped in at Dwight and DeeOn Mack's place on the way home from the girls hockey tournament in Minot on Sunday. Deadlines for many of the City of Max Centennial books are coming soon. How will you feel when the History of Max book is published and YOUR family is not included?? Deadline for the Library's recipe book is the end of this month. If you haven't sent in your recipes and/or hints, will you now when you are busy with Christmas programs and preparations? Just Do It! Contact the Library at 679-2263 or maxlib@restel.net. The Library is having their Preschool Story hour this Thursday, 8th, at 10:30 A.M. Contact the Library if you have any questions about this. This Saturday, December 10th is Max's big Santa Day at the Civic Center, starting at 9:30. This is being sponsored by Bremer Bank and the Max Civic Club. They will be serving french toast and ham; the Praise Band from Max will perform; there will be the Mugs and Hugs Child Identification Program by the McLean County Sheriff's Department, and sleigh or wagon rides, weather permitting. And kids, young and old, Santa will make a special appearance! Come tell him what you want for Christmas! December continues to be a busy month with other activities as the New 4-H Club will be meeting at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, the 11th. For more information, contact Karla Erickson at 679-2536. The school gym will be open for volleyball from 7-10 p.m. Sunday also. Please use the back door by the kitchen and your cost will be $1 per person per night. You may play volleyball there every Sunday night. Monday arrives with the monthly Civic Club meeting at 7:30. This meeting is held every third Monday of each month. The fourth Monday of each month is the Centennial Planning meeting at 7:30. Our Max Public School will be performing their Christmas program at the school at 7:30 on Thursday night the 15th at 7:30. Santa may be there then too! If you didn't receive the city's monthly calendar in the mail, you may pick it up at the Post Office. This is free - this month it is green. You will find the tentative schedule of events for Max's upcoming Centennial Celebration, on the back.
