Max News 1-03-05 Notice: This Sunday, January 9 th, the Max Senior Citizens will be having their Christmas Dinner in the new Maverick Room at the Wrangler Café, in Max. All ‘seniors’ are welcome, even if you aren’t a member of the Max Senior Citizens. You need to notify Wayne Kabanuck at the café by tomorrow noon, Friday, as to your choice of meat; chicken or roast pork; and your choice of potato; mashed with gravy or baked. There will be games and entertainment. Bring a wrapped ‘white elephant’ gift. The time for this is 12:30. This new addition to Max is a large room with a stage for entertainment and is available for gatherings or meetings. There is seating space for 30 to 35. Contact Wayne Kabanuck for more information or to reserve this Maverick Room. Jim Hauf of Minneapolis spent the Christmas holiday at the home of his parents, Ed. and Idamae Hauf. Also visiting during Christmas vacation were Steve and Tami Hauf and family of Sabin, MN. Very colorful pictures of all the Max Centennial Celebration souvenir items are now on the Max web-site. www.maxnd.com There is an order form there that can be printed off and mailed in, along with an e-mail address to send your order to. Our Web-Master Sue Blikre in Minot did a wonderful job taking pictures of these items. Thank you, Sue! Several ladies enjoyed coffee time at the Wrangler Café on Monday afternoon to celebrate December birthdays. Monday evening, January 10 th, at 7:30 is Civic Club. Start the New Year right by taking part in your community’s business meetings. Thursday, January 13th, from 9 until 3:30 Child Health and WIC will be held in Max. Friday, January 14 th, the Senior Citizens will have their noon potluck with their monthly business meeting to follow. If you would like to join, please feel free to come to this meeting. Friday evening, January 14th, is our Max High School’s Homecoming! There is open volleyball at the school gym every Sunday evening at 7 P.M. Wednesday evenings there is open basketball there. And soon the Civic Center will be open several evenings a week for people to come and walk, without fear of falling on the ice. Watch for notices as to what evenings and times.
