On Tuesday, February 8 th, Wayne and Linda Feldner took Linda’s dad, Dan Flath, to Merit Care Hospital in Fargo where Dan had surgery. On Thursday, February 10 th, Wayne and Linda were supper guests with Bernice Iverson and her grandson, Preston Milbauer, of Fargo. On Friday, February 11 th, Wayne, Linda, and Dan returned to their home in Minot.

The pop can is up on the ice now and tickets are being sold around town. Ed. Hauf would like to thank Chris Krebsbach, Travis Wagner, David Songstad, Dick Gray, Terry Gullickson and Gary Gullickson for helping him set up the Dr. Pepper can.

World Day of Prayer will be held next Friday, March 4 th, at 3:00 P.M. in the Max Catholic Church. Everyone is welcome. Following the service there will be refreshments.

Congratulations to Heath Roberts of the Max-Garrison-Velva Wrestling team. Heath took First Place in State for Class B. Heath is a student at Max High School and the son of Joan and Robin Roberts of Douglas.

Keep a close eye on the Max Cossacks girls’ basketball team!! Winning is the name of their game!

The Civic Center will be open from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight, Thursday, and again next Monday the 28 th for walking.

This coming Sunday, February 27 th, from 2 to 5 the Max Senior Citizens are having their ‘fun and games’ at their Center. Bingo, cards, pool; come and see what other fun things they’ll be doing. Any age is welcome.

The first Centennial meeting of 2005 was held Sunday. A good dozen people were in attendance. The various committees gave their reports with the promotions committee reporting more full color Afghans are on order as they are selling very well. More denim short sleeve shirts are on order. Souvenir playing cards and pocket toothpick holders should be arriving soon. In the fall the crock with an old time Max Main Street scene on it, along with numbered belt buckles will be arriving.

The history committee reports some information has come in. The history forms are available over internet, through the www.maxnd.com website and they are also available at the Bremer Bank and the Schmidt Museum in Max. If you have pictures to go with your histories, please send along the names and any other information about the people and/or buildings in the pictures.

The ethnic food committee reports that five churches have responded so far to take part in serving during the Centennial celebration.

More people are needed on the entertainment committee so even if you are already on a committee, please think ‘twice’ and be on two committees.

The catering of the City’s meal was discussed with everyone in agreement to talk to Kyle’s Katering of Garrison about doing it.

The City of Garrison is having their Centennial this coming summer of 2005, and requests the City of Max have a float in their parades on July 2 nd and 3 rd.

The outline of events for our Centennial celebration on June 30, July 1 st and 2 nd, of 2006 was discussed with many ideas brought up.

The next Centennial meeting will be Monday, March 21 st at 7:30 at the Civic Center. There will be monthly meetings for the rest of the year.

Fundraiser Kickoff tickets can still be purchased around town. Drawings are held each month for $50. The very first special drawing was held during the Kickoff night in November, with the names of Norman Batterberry of Garrison, and Dan Flath of Minot being drawn.

The December $50 winner was Walter Carlson of Douglas.

The January $50 winner was Kristie Pfau of Upham.

The February $50 winner was Nicole McElwain of Max.
