Max News 3-28-05

There will be Good News Club again this coming Monday, April 4th, at 3:25 at the Max Baptist Church. There are Bibles stories, verses, singing, games, and lunch. Invite your friends to come with you. Good News Club will be held again on Monday the 18th, and 21st of April.

This coming Sunday, April 3rd is a busy one in Max. The Max Catholic Church will be having their Spaghetti Dinner after services; then at 2:30 there will be a fun fundraiser at the school to raise funds for the new playground equipment and nature trail; then at 4:30 there is a potluck Welcome at the Civic Center for Ralph Yester who just returned from Iraq. You maybe saw his picture in this past Sunday’s Minot Daily.

If you have any questions regarding the Spaghetti Dinner, please contact anyone in the church.

The Fundraiser for the nature trail and the playground equipment renovation at the Max Public School will be held at 2:30 at the school. The activities include a Basketball Jamboree for those in grades 1 through 6. There will be a Country Store where the Elementary students will sell their projects. Other fun things will be face painting, a cupcake walk, bake sale, and a silent auction.

They would appreciate any and all donations of bake goods and items for the silent auction. Please leave them at the school before April 3rd.  Any questions, call Susan Plesuk or the child’s teacher. This is being subsidized by Thrivent for Lutherans.

The potluck for Ralph Yester will be from 4:30 until 6:00 at the Civic Center. Ralph’s wife, Lisa, and their two sons remained in Max during his absence. Ralph is the Maintainer operator for our area. Let’s show him how much we appreciate him. This is being sponsored by the Max Fire Department.

Please have your children, or you, mail their new mailing addresses and e-mail addresses to the Max Alumni at P.O. Box #81, Max, N. D. 58759-0081. This needs to be done if their mailing addresses have changed or if they have added an e-mail address since the 2001 reunion book was published. Please help us gather this needed information. If you know of other alumni who have changed their mailing addresses and/or added e-mail addresses, please send the new information to the above address. The information about the upcoming Centennial Celebration needs to be sent out so they can plan their vacations etc. but updated addresses are needed for that to be accomplished.

As of Monday evening, March 28th., the Dr. Pepper pop can still stood tall on the ice! But with the temperatures in the 50’s most of the week, the count is on! I’m hoping to catch a few pictures of the pop can as it enters the ice, to put on the Max web-site.

Reminder: The Max Library still needs recipes and hints to put in their Centennial cookbook. They haven’t received any for quite awhile and the deadline will be coming soon.

Reminder: Donations are still being requested for the new playground equipment that is going to be installed at the City Park and for the lighted flag pole to be installed in the City’s new Centennial Park. Please send them to Max City Hall at P.O. Box #116. Make any checks out to the City Park Board.

Charlotte Madsen’s daughter, Margaret Bentz, came up from Bismarck March 19th to spend the week-end with her Mother. She did some cleaning for her Mother which was very much appreciated.

Obert Kinn stopped by to say ‘Hello’ to Margaret and Charlotte on Sunday, March 20th.

Quite a number of ladies helped Florene Knudtson celebrate her birthday on Friday afternoon in Max.

Monday Margaret Zaderaka took JoNell Samson out for supper for her birthday that day. JoNell lives in Minot now.
