The last Preschool Story Hour at the Max Library will be April 14th at 10:30. The next story hour will be in September of 2005.

The Dr. Pepper Plunge winners are Becky Boedicker of Max, First Place, winning $500 cash. Second place winner receiving $250 cash is Don Nett of Bismarck. Third place winner is Tyler Schmidt, Grandson of Edwin and Dellora Schmidt, winning $100 in Max Bucks. Fourth place winner name is illegible. It is Bobby ? living at 1108 Valley Street in Minot. He wins $50.

We are saddened to learn the Wrangler Café closed this past Tuesday. Their future plans are undecided.

Sunnyslope Homemakers met this past Tuesday at the home of Lila Fannik in Max.

Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, LWML, of St. Matthew’s Church in Max met last Tuesday. Pastor Nelson led the Bible Study and Marian Schmidt served the lunch.

The Max High School Prom held this past Saturday evening was very nice. Their theme was “Can’t Fight This Feeling”. 37 couples took part in this beautiful event.

Margaret Zaderaka visited Darlene, Gary, and Kayla Rose last Wednesday in Rugby. Kayla is a senior and attended her school’s prom this past Saturday evening too. Kayla will be going into physical therapy at Mary College in the fall.

Carmen Fedorenko’s benefit this past Sunday was excellent. There was a really good turn out and silent auction. Those planning it would like to thank everyone for their support. Carmen was able to be there too. Our prayers are with you, Carmen!

Sunday evening, Ralph Yester, who just returned from Iraq March 26 th was injured while riding motorcycle and was transported to the hospital by Max Ambulance.

Ethel Boettcher has received word that Annie Gunderson of Valley City passed away and was buried on March 16th exactly two months before her 95th birthday on May 16th. Annie taught school for 45 years, teaching English and drama in the Max School in the 1930’s. Ethel has a letter of interest at the Max Senior Center for anyone to read more about Annie Gunderson.

This coming Saturday, April 16th starting at 8 A.M. the new playground equipment at the City Park will be installed. The Lutheran Youth Organization (LYO) will be helping and any other volunteers that can help, even if only for an hour, are needed. Other organizations may also help out, as one of their projects.

Monday, April 18th at 7:30 is the Centennial meeting. Month by month the Centennial Celebration is getting closer.

Notice…the Max School classes will begin at 8 A.M. on April 19th through the 22nd.

May 9th is Older Americans’ Day at the Max Senior Center. Watch for more detailed information on the events of that day.
