Max News 4-25-05 Several ladies brought birthday wishes to Lila Fannik this week. She received many cards and telephone calls and appreciated all of them. On Friday afternoon Linda Feldner of Minot also came and brought birthday wishes to her. Monday evening Mary Lushenko, Annie Rovenko, Pam Arnold, LaVonne Fannik, Lila Fannik, along with Cindy and Kim Capp and Darla and John Kohler, took in the Child Evangelism banquet held at the Minot City Auditorium. Annie Rovenko was honored for her many years on the Child Evangelism Board. Congratulations, Annie! Tonight, Thursday, the Pops Concert will be held at the Max Public School at 7:30. This coming Monday evening, May 2nd at 7:00 is the open meeting of the Max City Council at the Civic Center. There will be pictures of yards, vehicles, homes, etc. that need to be cleaned up, moved away, or destroyed. As the owner of any of these eyesores, you are responsible to clean them up etc. If you need help, contact anyone in the city. Your presence is needed at this meeting so definite decisions can be made about your property. Thursday evening, May 5th at 6:30 is the Max School Activities Banquet. This past Monday was the deadline for signing up to attend. Saturday, May 7th is the celebration for Older Americans' Month. Events being held at the Max Senior Center are bake sales, rummage sales, quilt sales, Kyle's Greenouse, and free pie and coffee. Max Centennial souvenirs will also be available. The St. Judes Bike-a-thon fund raiser starts at 10:00 A.M. that same day. Please call Kathy at 679-2569 for sign up and registration. There will be prizes for the most money earned. Saturday, May 7th, a very active day in Max. Come join in. Remind yourself to get your recipes and hints to the Max Library for their Centennial Cookbook; to write up your business and/or family history; to purchase an ad for the history book; to send any float ideas to Dwight Mack; to notify the committee if you would like to be a food vender on the street at anytime during the Centennial week-end; to notify Karen Berg if you can take part in the "Thanksgiving For 100 Years" praise service being held under the big tent the Sunday afternoon of the Centennial Celebration; and most importantly, to come to the Centennial Planning meetings!
