We extend our love and sympathy to the family of Lena Vinarski. Lena passed away in her home this past Saturday. Her sisters Mary Lushenko and Annie Rovenko live in Max. Lena and Aleck and family once lived just west of Max.

The Kindergarten class and the seniors all graduated from Max Public School this past week. More elsewhere in the paper.

On May 4th., Dan Felder, son of Wayne and Linda Felder of Max/Minot, had a total hip replacement in Bismarck. Dan is the grandson of Dan Falth of Max/Minot. He is recovering at his parents' home in Minot.

St. Matthew's Church LWML members had their outing last week by visiting museums in the area. The seven ladies first toured the Schmidt Museum in Max; then they enjoyed lunch in Ryder; and last but not least, toured the Douglas Museum.

Remember to save your empty toilet paper tubes and empty paper towel tubes for the Max Library's Summer Reading Program. They are going to be making 'Dragon Blowers'! Summer Reading begins the first week in June.

Summer Recreation will also start in June so contact Gary Narum at 529-4822 to enroll your child in this. This is a local phone number.

Linda Feldner is having a 90th. birthday party for her Dad, Dan Flath, at the Senior Citizens' Center in Max. It will be on Sunday, June 12th from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Everyone is invited and "no gifts please".The "Praise Band" from Our Saviour Lutheran Church will provide music.

Swimming lessons at the YMCA will be June 13-17. The cost for the lessons is $28.00 per session per child. If you are a Max Civic Club member or would like to join the Max Civic Club, they will pay half of the lesson fee. Kids age 3 and up are welcome.

We will be leaving from the Max School at 12:15 and arrive back at the school around 3:45. Please send payment with your child on the first day of lessons. We also need chaperones so please volunteer for this as well. Contact Lynae Schroeder at 679-2505 to register or with any questions.

Donations are still being accepted to pay for the new playground equipment that the children are enjoying, safely. And for the new Centennial Park lighted flag pole. Checks should be made out to the City Park Board and mailed to Max City Hall at P.O. Box #116; Max, N. Dak. 58759-0116. The playground equipment can be viewed on the Max web-site; www.maxnd.com

Call the Centennial Cafe at 679-8268 or Karla Erickson at 679-2536 if you are going to take part in the City Wide Yard Sale and Flea Market being held on Saturday, June 4th.

Tomorrow evening, Friday, 27th., is the Monthly Potluck at 6:00 for the Max Senior Citizens. What a perfect time to join!

Reminder: Deadline for getting information and/or pictures in for the Alumni book and Centennial book is February 1, 2006. And, if you want to cater a meal or two, or be a food vender, or be in the craft fair, please let us know.
