An Alumni meeting was held first off, announcing Friday of the Celebration will be Alumni Day. Plans for that day and evening were discussed. The first Alumni letter will be going out next week and they hope to get alot of responses back quickly so plans can move ahead. Help will be needed in folding these letters and preparing them for mailing. Notices will be up around town as to the day/evening and time this will be done. Remember, it won't be 'work' if plenty of 'fun' workers show up! The meeting continued with more plans being discussed for the Centennial week-end. Bands were discussed and they expect to have "Sentimental Journey" and "Northern Express" as the two bands that will play inside the hall on Friday and Saturday evenings. The evening "Sentimental Journey" plays you can count on hearing and dancing to alot of 50's and 60's music! Venders are still needed especially for the evening hours after the cafe closes and other eating areas have closed. Check to see if there are any farms around the Max community that have been in one family for 100 years. These are called "Centennial Farms". There will be forms to fill out to receive recognition for these farms. Centennial Farm forms and Family History forms will all be available at the Bremer Bank in Max. Box #233, Max, N.D. 58759-0233. Your business may help out by purchasing an ad in the History book or Alumni book also. This may be a way for those of you who cannot be here to help with the planning of this big event, to help out! Nita Olson of Douglas was the winner of the Fund Raiser drawing.
