Max News 7-25-05 Verna G. Mack of Pettibone, ND died Monday, July 25th in the Golden Acres Manor in Carrington, ND. Dwight G Mack of Max is her son. Verna was 90. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, July 30, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Lake Williams. Let's remember Dwight and his family. We extend our sympathy to his whole family. This Thursday, July 28 from 2 to 3 o'clock is the Summer Reading Program at the Max Public Library. The theme this time is "Magical Mayhem". This Thursday, July 28 starting at 7:00 anyone and everyone come to the Civic Center to help fold letters that are going out to the Max Alumni, with information and registration forms for the upcoming School Reunion and Max Centennial. This mailing will contain information on the recipe book the Max Library is making and will also contain information and pictures of all the souvenir items for sale, for the Centennial. Thus, anyone involved in the Library and Promotions for the Centennial should make every effort to be there to help out. Thankyou! We know you'll come! The Summer Reading Program will have their Finale Picnic in the park at noon on August 4th. Don't forget to send in your recipes and hints to go into the Library Centennial Cookbook. Friday and Saturday, August 5 and 6, there will be a 6-party garage sale at Max. There is more information on it elsewhere in this newspaper. Watch for the signs those two days. Then on August 20th., there will be another City-Wide Rummage sale event in and around Max. More information on this at a later date. Alice Henne Tooke of Lewisville, Texas was here to help her Mother celebrate her 98th. birthday. Olga's grandson Duane Bauch of Whitefish, Montana also visited. He is Ruth Henne Bauch's son. Recent guests at Bud and Gloria Henne's home have been Noel Gunderson of Cando; Duane and Sharon Hanson of Thompson, ND; Russell, Diana, and Steven Eslinger of Mission Texas.
