Only 9 months left until our Centennial is here! The Grandparents' Day Breakfast was a big success with many grandchildren and grandparents attending. The walls and tables were decorated with posters, poems, pictures, lanterns, and alot of very nice handmade items made by the children in our Max Public School. Alex Schroeder won the door prize of a Centennial shirt. Thankyou, children, for decorating the hall so nicely! Brett and Jessica Henne attended the funeral for her Grandmother, Mary Dvorak, in Dickinson recently. Our sympathy to Jessica and her family. Many from Max and the area attended Leland Vitko's funeral in Minot on Monday. We extend our sympathy to his Mother Olivia, sister Diane, and his many other friends and relatives. Our community has lost one who was born only months before the town of Max and Douglas were formed. Bill Poleshuk would have been 100 years old on January 15, 2006. He has been laid to rest in Minnesota where his wife Margaret and daughter Marcee and her family live. We extend our sympathy to his family and friends. Bill was very active in the community of Max by working for the city and helping anyone else that needed help with any project. Idamae Hauf visited several days last week at the home of their daughter, Brenda Reister at Waconia, MN. She also visited briefly with their sons Jim of Mpls. and Steve and Tami and family at Sabin, MN.
