There is snowy weather in our area with wind-chill temperatures in the double digits below zero!Reminders: Tomorrow, Friday the 8th.there will be a Pre-School Story Hour at the Max Library at 10:30. Then  the Senior Citizens will be having their noon potluck with the meeting to follow.

Saturday in Max will be a big day with Santa coming! Breakfast will be served, starting at 9:30. Santa will arrive and will have his treat bags. The Praise Band from Our Savior's Lutheran Church will provide the music and the McLean County Sheriff's Department will be doing fingerprinting and picture taking for Mugs and Hugs. Outside there will be horse drawn wagon or sleigh rides, so come ready to bundle up! This is all being sponsored by Bremer Bank and Insurance.

Ed. and Idamae Hauf attended the 68th annual convention of the North Dakota Soil Conservation Districts held at the Holiday Inn in Fargo recently. Also attending were the 2006 West McLean SCD winners Marlo and Paula Huesers and Paul and Lisa Huesers. The Huesers were recognized in a slide presentation at the convention banquet on Monday evening. Other supervisors who attended from the West McLean district were Erny and Venetia Giffey and Don and Edith Baumann.

Did you remember there is adult volleyball most Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. at the Max School?  Come in the door on the west side, by the cafeteria. There is a small fee. Remember, Monday evening is Civic Club with election of officers. This will be held at the Civic Center at 7:30 p.m.

Joann, John, Jeff, Holly and little James McElwain went to Bismarck on Sunday to help Katie Jungling celebrate her 96th. birthday. Other ones there from Max were Jarvis and LaVonne Jungling and Kenny and Shirley Jungling.

Next Thursday, December 14th. at 7:30 p.m. is the Max School's Christmas Concert. Then only one more week of school before the students begin their Christmas Vacation time that runs from December 22nd. to January 1st., with school resuming January 2nd, 2007.

The Max Cossack's basketball season is here again and now you can keep up to date on their practice and game schedules by logging onto www.highschoolsports.net on your computer. With the North Dakota weather, it would be wise to check into this web-site before leaving home to find out if the game is still on.
