New events in Max are starting and others are ending! The Dr. Pepper Plunge contest is just starting. The deadline for buying tickets for this are April first. Tickets are available now at a cost of $5 each, allowing you to make three guesses at that price. If you are interested in selling tickets, please pick up a booklet or two of tickets from Edwin Schmidt at his office on Main Street. Only 500 tickets will be sold.

Prizes for the two closest winners are $500. and $250. in cash. Third and fourth place winners will receive $100. and $50. in Max Bucks. Last year’s Dr. Pepper can plunged into the water at 10:43 A.M. on April 5 th.

The end has come for getting recipes into the Max Library for their Centennial Cookbook, as all recipes were mailed off on the 31 st. to be made into their Centennial Cookbook. There will be a notice in the paper as to when the cookbooks will be available for sale and at what price. The local Max people will get first chance to purchase them.

And the end has come for getting all histories in too. There is still work to be done in other areas so we would like as many people as can, come to our next meeting on Sunday, February 19 th. at 1:30.

The Annual Prayer Service of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League will be held at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Max on February 7 th, at 2:00 P.M. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Max Library Story Hour for Pre-schoolers will be February 16 th. at 10:30. A Valentine craft will be made.
