More Centennial news: The banners that will be going up on the poles on Main Street and some nearby streets may have your family and/or business name on the bottom of them, if you would like. Each banner will cost the family or business $50. Please contact Edwin Schmidt at 679-2551 or at P.O. Box #315, Max if you are interested. Please state how you would like your name/business name and on how many banners. This information is needed as soon as possible because of the length of ordering time.

The Max History book can now be ordered! If you prepay by May 15 th, the cost will be $20, plus $5. shipping fee if you want it mailed out. It is expected to be at least 200 pages in length, with a soft cover. After May 15 th., the cost will be more, at whatever it has to be to cover everything. Please mail your prepaid order into the Max Centennial at P.O. Box #233. Checks should be made out to Max Centennial.

There are no volunteers to do the street cleanup each evening. This cleanup is very important to make a good impression on ‘company coming’ the following day. It has to be finished by 8 A.M. and mostly cannot be started until after the evening dance ends. If there is an organization, group or even a family that would like to take on this task, even if just for one evening, please contact anyone on the Centennial committee.

The Fun Run is scheduled for 8 A.M. on Saturday. Any alumni interested in taking part in this, please contact Susan Halverson at 679-2607 or 679-2697.

Has your class, business, or family given any thought to being in the parade on Saturday morning? Please contact Dwight Mack at 679-2623 or e-mail him at dwimack@rtc.coop. He will send you a form to fill out so the MC can tell about your entry.

Letters and forms for other events taking place will be going out soon. Please respond quickly, if you receive any of these. The time is going by too quickly and there is a lot to do yet.

A Bed and Breakfast expects to be opening up in the Max area before the Centennial Celebration. Watch for more information on this.

“There are two kinds of people: those who don’t do what they want to do, so they write down in a diary about what they haven’t done, and those who haven’t time to write about it because they’re out doing it.” Richard Flournoy and Lewis R. Foster
