Max News 5-01-06 Duwayne and Linda Haynes have just returned from a wonderful ten day trip to Arizona to see their daughter Lori and to see her new home. The family gave Linda a special birthday gift by having her long-time girlfriend come from Bakersfield, California to surprise her. Carolyn Haines and Linda hadn’t seen each other in 30 years. They were college roommates and Carolyn was a bridesmaid for Linda when she and Duwayne got married. It was a great 3-day visit for these friends. On Haynes’ return trip, they spent time in Cheyenne, Wyoming visiting friends. Then on Saturday they visited with their sister-in-law and her husband in Upton, Wyoming. While they were there, they got acquainted with their sweet little 5 week old great niece. They encountered a lot of snow and two blizzards on their way back. They arrived home to green grass and who says North Dakota has bad weather! There is a misunderstanding on the price of the Max Public Library’s Centennial cookbook. The cost is $15 and if you would like it mailed out to you, please add another $5 for postage and handling. Many are sending in $25. The Max History book cost is $20 if ordered and paid for by May 15th, and if you want that mailed out to you, add another $5 for that, totaling $25. Those that have overpaid for the cookbook will receive their refund with their cookbook. The sale of these cookbooks is going very well as a lot are purchasing them for Mother’s Day gifts. They are available at the Max Public Library which is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; and are also available at the Max Farm Services Cenex Station. Today, Thursday, is National Day of Prayer.
