'Angels and More' will be selling fireworks on Main Street in Max starting June 27th. 'Angels and More' involves the Schroeder families, with the girls selling their own hand-crocheted angels, and more, at the Dickens Festivals in Garrison and other places.

Lila Fannik and Marge Scurlock attended a farewell get-together in Underwood Sunday afternoon. This was for Pastor Douglas and Arlyce Sathren who are leaving Underwood to go into a different type of ministry.

The Max Baptist Church will be having a church service on Sunday morning, July 2, during the Max Centennial. Coffee and fellowship time will be from 9 to 10 a.m. with worship starting at 10. Thena Versolenko Bamber, 1944 graduate of Max High, and her daughter Ruth Palnick will be singing and speaking at this service. There will be other special numbers too.

Thena is the wife of Sandy Palnick, now deceased, who pastored in Max. Ruth was born in Max during her father's pastorate here.

Make a note on your calendar that the Max Senior Citizens' will be having their July meeting on the 7th. of July at 2:00, instead of the 14th.

The Seniors will still have their June potluck at the usual time, June 23rd.at 6:00. Visitors are welcome to come to this. Any and all that can come help decorate the Max Senior Center's float, please come to Margaret Scurlock's garage around noon on June 23rd. We'll break for the potluck and return to finish the float after eating.

The Max Seniors are serving 5 different types of salads from 11 to 3:30 on the Friday of the Centennial, June30th. On Saturday, they will be serving baked potatoes with 6 choices of toppings. These will be served in the air conditioned Senior Center.
