Max News 7-17-06 Please contact Lynae Schroeder at 679-2505 if you are interested in taking part in a city-wide rummage sale, preferably the first week-end in August. The rodeo will be held in Max on that Friday and Saturday, August 4th and 5th. This would be a one-day city-wide rummage sale event. This coming Sunday, July 23rd at 7 p.m. there will be a Singspiration Service at the Max Baptist Church with the Rev.Alan Hathaway leading the service. Everyone is welcome. Dwight and DeeOn Mack recently returned from celebrating their 40th. anniversary with family at Medora. There was a Centennial meeting held on Monday evening with alot of good reports given about the city's recent Centennial Celebration. The Cossack Cuisine served by different churches in the Civic Cener was a 'very positive thing' with 5 booths and serving 100 to 300 people. Each church made a profit. There were 561 attending the Max Alumni buffet Friday evening. Advanced registrations numbered 264 so many waited until they were in Max to buy their ticket. There are still alumni books for sale and available at the Max Public Library. Thankyou for your generous donations toward the NatureTrail. In the souvenir department, there is some of everything available, except certain size shirts. These souvenirs may be purchased at the Max Public Library during their open hours on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. You may purchase them there from 10:30-11:30 and again from 1:30-5:30 those days. The items will also be available for purchase during the rodeo, in the Youth Center at the Civic Center. There are still plenty of Max History books for sale, also available at the Library, Schmidt Museum, and the bank. If you have noticed any of your history books missing pages, please return them to Max Centennial at P.O.Box #233; Max, ND 58759 and you will receive a complete book. The faulty books need to be returned to the printer so we must have you return them to us. Does anyone know of anyone that took a video of all of the Centennial events? Or even of the parade? Please let Edwin Schmidt know as people have been asking about buying a video. It seems all of the lost and found items have been taken care of, except for a black camera case for a Sony Cybershot. This was placed inside a tan 4-door Olds Intrique. Just the case with the cord and 2 Energizer batteries. Please phone 701 529-4481 or e-mail me at emz@rtc.coop and I'll place this call for you and it will be sent to you.. The Centennial Committee will continue to have meetings, when necessary, until the end of the year. There are still bills to be paid, thankyou's to be written, and money to come in. Activities going on in Max yet this month are the Summer Reading Program picnic this Friday 21st at 3 pm at the Max City Park and the Senior Citizens' potluck next Friday, 28th. at 6 pm at the Senior Center.
