We extend our sympathy to Shirley and Kenny Jungling and to Karen and Jerome Finkbeiner in the loss of their sister-in-law, Bonnie Finkbeiner of Duluth, Minnesota. Bonnie's husband, the late Norman Finkbeiner is a brother to Shirley and Jerome.
This past Sunday, October 21st., Ethel Boettcher celebrated her 95th. birthday with an open house held at the Max Senior Center. Her actual 95th. birthday was that very day! There was a nice group of people wishing her a Happy Birthday and staying to visit with her. Lorna Sambor had a reading; Linda Haynes cut the cake; Viola Gullickson added the ice cream; and Bonnie Lee poured the coffee. There was alot of visiting and alot of laughing. Everyone enjoyed the day!
This Friday, October 26th., the Fall Concert will be held at the Max Public School at 7:30. The next evening is the Civic Club's annual Steak Fry with serving from 5-8, followed by dancing to the Nite Owls. That same evening, the 27th, the Rocky Acres 4-H Club will be having the Haunted Maze just north of Max. This will take a short time so one may also take in the Civic Club's Steak Fry at the Civic Center.
Sunday, October 28th., the Max Physic's Club from the Max Public School will be having a Chili Feed at the school from 11 to 2.
Then comes Halloween so you will want to drive carefully and watch out for the little ones dressed up in their costumes. Let's keep it safe! The Max Public Library's Halloween Party will be held from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. that day, October 31st.
Max Library's Library week with some evening events is soon here and their Annual Flea Market and Vendor Fair will close out that week on November 18th. Call the library at 679-2263 for more information.
