This coming Sunday, December 2, is the 'Something New' in Max. It is the First Annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration. This is scheduled to start with a potluck at the Max Civic Center at 5:00 p.m. Following the meal, the Christmas tree lights will be turned on and there will be caroling. If you'd like to bring an ornament for the tree, please do so. At the Civic Center there will also be a box for food donations, going to the McLean County Resource Center in Washburn. This whole event is being sponsored by the Max Civic Club and the City Council of Max. Most importantly, we will be celebrating the true meaning of Christmas and fellowship!

The very next Sunday, December 9th, the Seniors will be having their potluck Christmas party at the Senior Center in Max. This will start at 1:00 p.m. Please remember to bring a wrapped gift for the number of people you are bringing, plus yourself. This gift limit is $5.00. These gifts will be used in an exchange game after the meal. There is a sign up sheet at the Center for potluck items. A free-will offering will be taken again this year.

Children, guess who is coming to town on December 15th! Santa will be here for Santa Day at the Civic Center, with serving of pancakes and sausage to take place from 9:30 to 11:30. There will be other entertainment as well.

Let's make Christmas warmer for many young people. Leave scarves, gloves, mittens, and caps in the collection box at the Max Bremer Bank before December 18th. Thankyou! Let's help keep them warm this winter!
