Max News 12-24-07

There is a new little ornament on the Christmas tree at Angie and Matthew Voigt's home in Bismarck. Angie is the daughter of Cindy and Wayne Thompson of Max. Noah Walter came into this world on December 9th, which was also his Daddy's birthday! He weighed 8# 3oz and was 20 3/4 long. Noah's Grandparents are Cindy and Wayne Thompson of Max, Leo and Trish Voigt of Bismarck and Noah's Great-Grandmother is Mildred Thompson of Garrison. Congratulations to the happy family!

In last week's McLean County Independent there were results from a survey taken about where you'd rather shop; A super store or in your home town. I want to share my recent experience with shopping in my sister's hometown. There are fewer stores compared to bigger cities but I found the choice to be even better than bigger cities or super stores. Seems there is always one I 'just don't know what to get' for. Well, I walked into a local store and found the ideal gift - in the perfect character and in the perfect interest of this person. The price was equal to or less than in the bigger city's stores, where I had looked and found nothing that 'jumped out' at me like this gift did. Thank you for hometown stores. You'll see me in there again!
