The New Year around Max has been a very sad one! On January 3rd. DuWayne Bostow was found dead in his home. He is the son of the late John and Emma Bostow. A short time later on the same day, Everett Johnson's farm home was burned to the ground by two Air Force men who have since been arrested for arson and theft. Today, the 8th., Lila Fannik was taken to the hospital with a stroke. Our sympathy goes out to these families, along with special prayers for Lila's recovery. Lila had just returned to Max the evening of January 7th., after spending time with her daughter, Virginia and family.

The weather today, the 8th., around Max was quite blustery. But the high temperature on Friday is to be a minus one! We've had warmer temperatures in recent days so the snow has crusted, limiting any visibility problems today to the new snow. But driving still had its visibility problems.

Spending the Christmas holiday at the home of his parents Ed. and Idamae Hauf was Jim Hauf of Maplewood, MN. On Christmas Day they were dinner guests at the home of Idamae's brother, Virgil and Oliene Hall at Upham, N.Dak.

It is never too late to put in your holiday news of family and events! Those Max-ites going south for the winter would like to hear how others celebrated back in their home town!

On December 26th Ed. and Idamae Hauf accompanied Jim to Sabin, MN. where they all enjoyed a couple days with Steve and Tami Hauf and family.
