There will be a Scholastic Book Fair at the Max School library on February 5th through the 9th. Sunday's hours are 12 to 3; Monday, Tuesday, and Friday hours 3 to 4; and Wednesday and Thursday hours are 3 to 6. The books earned from this Fair will go to the classroom libraries and to the school library. For more information, call the Max School at 679-2685.
The Dr. Pepper Plunge has been renamed to The Max Plunge. You won't see the Dr. Pepper pop can out on the ice this year but you will see something fresh and new. Sponsors are Reservation Telephone Cooperative and Otter Tail Power. Tickets will again sell for $5 for 3 guesses per ticket. Cash prizes this year will be first place $500.; second $250; third $100., and fourth $50. The closing date for ticket sales will be March 17th. at midnight.
Max Karate classes are going great. The first group of students are getting ready to test for their first belt. We are now able to accept new students. Stop by and attend a class for free to see how you like it. Classes meet Fridays at 3:30 at the Max Civic Center. If you are 14 or older, stop by at 4:30 and ask about an adult class. Shifu Martin is looking for a teenager or two to train who would be interested in helping to teach the younger class as well.
This Friday, February 9th. the Max Library is having their Story Hour at 10:30 at the Max Library.
At noon the Max Senior Citizens are having their noon potluck with the monthly meeting following at 2:00.
Next Monday, the 12th. is the Civic Club meeting at the Civic Center at 7:30.
