Walter Nicolaison of Minot but formerly of the Max area has passed away at the age of 93. His funeral was Monday in Max. Our sympathy to his family and friends.

The weather in Max is still cold and ice covers the trees making them shine. But all in all, we really have very nice weather in comparison to other parts of the United States!

Several helped Stephanie Nye celebrate her birthday at her own cafe in Max today. Stephanie is the new owner of the Centennial Cafe on Highway 83.

Upcoming events still taking place are the Civic Club Fish Fry. If you want 'free fish', all you have to do is join or renew your membership in Civic Club. The Fish Fry will be held at the Max Civic Center on March 12th.

Not many days left for you to purchase your tickets to the Senior's St. Patrick Day dinner being held on March 17th. Tickets are $7.50 each and children under 10 eat free. Any senior in Max has these tickets for you to buy and you do need to buy them by March 9th. .

Speaking of 'buying', there are still the Library's Centennial cookbooks for sale at the Library for $15. Alumni books and Max history books are also available at the Bremer Bank in Max or at Edwin Schmidt's office.

And don't forget to buy a ticket to give you three guesses as to when the white pop can will plunge into the slough. These tickets are available several places. The cutoff date for purchasing tickets is March 17th. at midnight. More information and pictures next week.
