There will be a Spaghetti Benefit Dinner this coming Sunday, March 11th. for Gary Olson whose wife is Pam Gullickson formerly of Benedict. Gary is presently hospitalized in St. Paul. This dinner will be held at the New Life Lutheran Church north of the Minot Airport at 710 46th. Avenue N.E. from 12 to 4:00.
Upcoming events in Max are the Senior Citizens' Potluck at noon and their meeting to follow at 1:30, tomorrow, Friday March 9th. This is also the last day you can purchase tickets to the Seniors' St. Patrick's Day Dinner being held on Saturday, March 17th. from 5 to 7 P.M. Tickets are $7.50 each with children under ten years of age eating free. This St. Patrick's Day Dinner will be held in the Max Civic Center.
And the day of the St. Patrick's Day Dinner is also the last day you may purchase tickets that give you three guesses on each ticket as to when the Max Plunge will take place. You may have noticed the very nice articles and picture in the McLean Independent and in the Minot Daily News. These tickets are available at Max business places and from some individuals. Information required on the tickets are the month, day, hour, and minute - A.M. or P.M. - the beautiful white can will 'plunge' into the water. You'll notice there is a clock on the pole on the northeast corner of the slough that records the exact time the can has plunged.
But before these events, the Max Civic Club will be having their Membership Night and Fish Fry at 6 P.M. at the Max Civic Center, on March 12th., a Monday evening. Information on this event is on the back of the monthly community calendar that is available free around town and some have received in the mail. This month it is green in color for St. Patrick's Day!
The Max Park Board is asking for any input from the Max Community on what the old tennis court could be used for. This is on top of the hill, just west of the City Park tables and playground equipment. The Board would also appreciate any suggestions on what you would like to see done in the parks in Max. Contact Ray Iverson, Colleen Johnson, Vanessa Adams, David Songstad, or Tammy McElwain with your ideas.
