This past Saturday evening's St. Patrick's Day dinner put on by the Max Senior Citizens was very well attended with about 90 people and the food was also very good. Alot of door prizes were given out. There was green everywhere - on heads, on shirts, on aprons, on the tables, and about everywhere you looked there was evidence it was St. Patrick's Day! The Dusty Trails 4-H Club members of Max were the waitresses and waiters, all decked out in their green outfits, including hats! This was a Community Service project for the club. Thankyou, Dusty Trails members! The menu included Irish stew and Irish bread pudding. And Irish songs were also sung - how much more Irish could it get! Thankyou to the Senior Citizens for putting on such a fun event.

And there is still more 'food' on the agenda with the Ambulance District Breakfast on Sunday, March 25th. with serving from 9 to 1 p.m. in the Max Civic Center. This food will be pancakes and scrambled eggs with ham. A free will offering will be taken.

The very next Sunday, April 1, also Palm Sunday, the Immaculate Conception Church in Max is having their spaghetti and meatball dinner from 11:30 to 1:30 at their church.

Announcement: There will be a special meeting of the Senior Citizens at 2:00 on March 30th. Their April meeting day and potluck day are two separate days and will continue that way throughout the summer. The meeting will be at 2:00 on the second Friday of each month and the potluck will be at 6:00 on the fourth Friday of each month. You can look forward to their Older Americans Day on May 12th. with pie and coffee and bedding plants for sale. Remember the beautiful birdhouses sold last year, among other things - you just might be able to purchase them again this year on May 12th. So make plans to attend.

The Max Public Library will be having their Story Hour at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 30th. Have you been in your library lately? So many books on North Dakota - many others written by North Dakotans - just a wealth of information in our own library. Use it and enjoy it!

Would you like to do something for the Max school children and for their school? They are saving Campbell soup labels - just the fronts of the labels. Also, you will notice on those labels and on many other items, there is a cute little person saying "Boxtops for Education" - the school children are also saving those. Our Family brand items are being saved, with the 'Our Family' showing on what you cut out. The school mostly receives money for these items, which goes towards the children's education. You may drop these off in the Max News box that sits on the counter at Bremer Bank in Max and I will deliver them to the school office for you. Or you may like to deliver them yourself and see how nice the school is in our own city of Max! It probably has been awhile since you graced its hallways.
