We have lost another former Maxite. Alice Timothy, 88, passed away on April 3rd with her funeral being held in Boulder City, NV this past Saturday. Alice's husband John passed away in August of 2004. They lived on the farm just west of the 'little white school house' north of Max, and moved to Boulder City, NV in 1996. Their daughter Marilyn lives in Boulder City and condolences may be sent to her, for the family, at this address: Marilyn Maxwell; 1520 Irene Drive; Boulder City, NV 85260. Sunnyslope Homemakers, of which Alice had been a member, had their recent meeting at Mavis Zahursky's in Minot. Eight members were present.
Eugene and Margaret Zaderaka took in their granddaughter's 6th. birthday on Friday at Splashdown in Minot. Hannah is the daughter of Dean and Heidi Zaderaka of Minot.
This Friday, April 13th., the Max Senior Citizens will be having their April meeting at 2:00 with Mr. Scott Foss from Garrison speaking. Now that spring (??) is here, the Senior Citizens have their meeting and potluck on separate days, with the potluck being held at 6 p.m. on the fourth Friday of each month.
Saturday evening at 7:30 the Max High School students will be having their Grand March for their prom, at the Max School. The public is welcome to come watch this beautiful event. The school gym is always decorated to depict their theme.
Don't forget about Pre-School-Kindergarten registration at the school on May 1st. Souris Valley Special Services will be there to test your child's hearing, speech and development. You do need to phone ahead for an appointment at 679-2685.
Elsewhere in today's paper you will see 'Then and Now' pictures from the year 1984 and 2007, of Max High School kids. Dean Polsfut, who graduated from Max High in 1983, was featured on KXMC's Noon Show to talk about the bands that will be playing in Minot, including the one these five kids are in.
