We have our own Margaret Scurlock and Matthew Dobowey home from the hospital now. We are so grateful their health has allowed them to return to their homes. Margaret's daughter Carol and her husband Paul Sherwood from Florida arrived in Max on Saturday, to spend some time with Margaret and other relatives and friends.
Visiting at Lila Fannik's home on Sunday was a friend, Larry Oiland from California. And speaking of California, Jim Steinhaus writes that gas is now over $4 a gallon there!

Tomorrow, Friday the 11th. is the monthly meeting at the Senior Center in Max. The community calendar states it is at 1:00 but the spring/summer schedule for meetings is 2:00. See you at the Center at 2:00. At 7:30 in the evening is the Max High School Pops Concert.
Then comes Saturday, May 12th, Older American's Day with alot of interesting things to do, and buy, at the Max Senior Center. Kyle's Greenhouse will be here with the flower and vegetable plants we all look forward to buying. They have other items necessary to raising gardens, also. Inside the Senior Center you will find crafts and beautiful sturdy birdhouses for sale - these have been hand cut and assembled and hand painted - you will have to come see them to believe how stunning birdhouses can look! All this fun activity runs from 10 to 4 p.m. Don't forget to get your pie and coffee when you come inside - and take home some good baked goods too. See you there!
Come 'by and buy' at the Max Senior Center for Mother's Day - even early Father's Day gifts. And Happy Mothers Day! The next day another week starts off with the Max Civic Club having their May meeting Monday at 7:30 at the Civic Center. And the very next week will be full of Kindergarten graduation and the last day of school, followed up by Max High School's graduation on May 27th. at 2:00.
