Paul and Carol Sherwood from Florida have been visiting Carol's Mother, Marge Scurlock and other relatives and friends in the area.

On May 11th. Shawna Fannik, daughter of Dennis and Karla Fannik, graduated from Williston State College with a Science degree in Massage Therapy. Those from the area attending the ceremony where Dennis and Karla, Grandma Lila Fannik, Grandpa and Grandma Homer and Alvie Nesson, and Shawna's friend. In the evening, many came to Shawna's parents' home on the farm to bring her good wishes. Congratulations, Shawna!

The Max High School graduation is this Sunday, the 27th., at 2:00 at the school gym. Try not to miss it!

Lowell and Alice Kastner of Bemidji, Minnesota have been staying with Lila for several days, visiting with her and other friends in the area. Lowell and Alice are long time friends of Lila and her late husband, George. They are sightseeing the Lewis and Clark Trail before they get home.

Friday - May 25th - a very busy day in Max! The Max Library is having their Summer Reading Kickoff from 2 to 3 p.m. This program will run on Mondays in June from 4 to 5 p.m., with the final day on June 29th. This Summer Reading program will run only the month of June this year.

After a 2-week break, karate class is back in session for Friday, May 25th at 3:30. Now would be a good time to start classes if you are interested. Kids classes are held at 3:30 and the teen/adult class is at 4:30. Remember, the first class is always free!

Swimming lessons are being held June 4-8. If you haven't signed up, please do so by Friday, May 25th by calling Lynae at 679-2505 to register.

Then at 6 p.m. on this Friday, the 25th., the Max Senior Citizens are having their May potluck at the Center.

Our family has received the news that Margaret's neice's 20 year old son was in a work-related vehicle accident and is now paralyzed from the waist down. Ian Sweep is a determined young man and loves a challenge, which his life will definitely be, but your thoughts and prayers would be very much appreciated. Thank you!
