Announcing a new set of Grandparents! Michael and Agnes Dobowey recently gained this new name when a little girl, Annika Jean, was born to Jonathan and Kate Dobowey. Annika weighed 7#11oz. and was 21 inches. Jonathan and Kate,.and Annika, live in Cold Springs, MN. The maternal set of Grandparents are Bob and Diane Bellmont of Cold Springs, MN. Congratulations to the parents and grandparents!

Darrin Hauf of Ankeny, Iowa came to spend Father's Day week-end at the home of his parents, Ed. and Idamae Hauf. They enjoyed some fishing time near the Garrison Dam and attended the open house and family supper in honor of Erwin and Ethel's 60th. anniversary on Sataurday. On Sunday Darrin treated them to dinner out in Minot.

Come celebrate with us for Mary Lushenko's 90th birthday. It will be held on this Saturday, June 23 at the Max Senior Center for open house between 2-4 pm. No gifts please. Her children will be here to help make this a memorable day.

On this same Saturday at 6 pm at the Max City Park or in the case of inclement weather, the Max Civic Center, the Max Civic Club invites you to the 1st Annual Summer Solstice potluck BBQ picnic. Meat, buns, plates, cups and utensils will be provided. Please bring your favorite salad or dessert to share. And also bring your own beverages and chairs. There will be a free will offering with all the proceeds donated to the Max Park Board. The music will be provided by The Nite Owls and there will be games and entertainment for all ages! If you have any questions, please contact any Civic Club member.

On Sunday, June 24th at 6 pm at the Max Baptist Church, Ryan Kee with "Youth with a Mission" will be speaking. He has ministered with youth in Europe for several years. Ryan's parents, Steve and Betty Kee, are formerly of the Garrison area. This will be a very informative and interesting event. Fellowship will follow the service.

The City landfill will be open on June 30th from 9 to 12. Again, take note of the notice on the bulletin board in the Civic Center entryway.

Also looking for people to attend the many garage sales being held in Max on July 7th from 9-4, during the City Wide Garage Sale event. Of course, garage sales are needed! Many have already signed up, and some of the items being sold are furniture, antiques, clothes, bells, saddles, and dolls.
