Max's own Karen Polsfut is in St. A's Hospital in Bismarck after shattering her knee in a fall. Her surgery is to be Thursday. You may send her a card at St. Alexius Medical Center; 900 East Broadway; Bismarck, N.D. 58501.

The last swimming session is set for August 6-10. Please call Lynae Schroeder at 679-2505 to confirm and reserve your spot, by Sunday, August 29. We can only transport 14 kids for this session so please call ASAP.

Lori Haynes arrived home from Avondale, Arizona on July third to spend time with her Mom and Dad in Max, and with her sister Kristin Splichal in Minot. While home, Lori attended her High School Class Reunion in Minot and helped her folks with their garage sale in Max.

The Haynes family attended the Pre-Fourth of July picnic and fireworks at Jessica and Brett Henne's place. Then on the 9th and 10th, the four of them visited with relatives in Wishek, where Linda is from.

Lori left on Thursday, July 12th, after picking up her second cousin Tami Volz in Bismarck. Lori and Tami and Lori's Jasmin drove the trip together. Tami is Linda's cousin and lives in Mesa, Arizona. Duwayne and Linda also went to Bismarck at the same time, to visit with Linda's aunt and uncle, Norma and Norman Kienzle.

This Friday, July 27th is the Senior Citizens' Potluck at the Senior Center, at 6:00. The Senior Center is air-conditioned!

And air-conditioning is almost a necessity in our area as the heat index today was 114 degrees. It is forecast to be a 120 heat index tomorrow. The North Dakota State Fair is presently in Minot and the extreme heat is cutting back on attendance, but it wouldn't be a Fair without hot weather. North Dakotans do provide!!

This coming Sunday is Clara Giese's 90th. birthday open house in Max. And the Max Rodeo will be held the first week-end in August.

Jessica Henne would like to take care of your babies and children in her country home just south of Max. Her Daycare is called "Little Hoppers". Call Jessica at 679-2256 or 661-0240 to make arrangements.

Reminder: The Max Public Library on Main Street is now open on Tuesday instead of Wednesday and open on Thursday instead of Friday. The hours are 10:30 to noon and from 1 - 5:30 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. There are videos to check out too - not just books!
