Correction: In my last week's news I mentioned that friends and many others had attended Gailord and Mabel Albertson's 50th. anniversary celebration. This event was a family gathering, so only family attended. It was wrong to put in that friends and others had also attended. Congratulations, Mabel and Gailord and please excuse me.

Recent visitors at the Lorna Sambor home were Clayton and Sharon Narum of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.

Are you all ready for French Toast and Sausage to be served at the Grandparent's Day Breakfast? Oops, they will be serving Pancakes and Sausage, instead. But you already know they will be the best pancakes ever! Serving takes place from 9 to 1 p.m. with a special karate demonstration by Max Karate students at approximately 12:15. The free will offering will go towards helping defray the costs to publish and distribute the Community Calendar. September 9th at the Max Civic Center on Main Street are the 'when and where'. This is being sponsored by the Max Civic Club, an organization you would enjoy taking part in. Just ask anyone about the particulars.

November 13th. through the 18th. is Library Week in Max. On the last day, the 18th., they will having their annual flea market at the Civic Center from 9:30 - 2:30. Tables are $10 each and may be reserved by calling the Max Public Library. The Library will be having books and other items for sale too. Lunch is being served. At 3:00 on the 18th, the drawings, plural, will be held for the Senior Citizens' Raffle. There are many expensive prizes. Tickets are still available and are $1.00 each from any Senior Member and other business places, in and out of Max.
