We extend our sincere sympathy to the family of Kathryn Osadchy. Kathryn was born and raised by Max and continued to live in Max during the warmer months. She spent the winters with one of her daughters, Judy, in Woodbury, Minnesota. Her sister Frances Spitanik lives in Max and her two sons, Ronnie and Donald, also live in and near Max. She will be missed.

Melvin Braunberger, formerly of Benedict, passed away Sunday, January 20th. in a Minot hospital after a lenghty illness. Shirley and Melvin were married 50 years on January 19th. and had a celebration after Christmas during which all their family members were home, with children, grandchildren, and great grandchild. Melvin was taken to the hospital that very morning by ambulance so was unable to be in attendance and it was much too late to cancel the event. Shirley was there to receive the congratulations for Melvin too. Melvin and Shirley have lived in Minot for many years, after moving back from California. Melvin's funeral will be at 1:00 on Thursday, January 24th at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Minot.

On Sunday, February 3, from 10 until 1, there will be a benefit held at the Max Civic Center for Holly Kinn Forsman to help with her medical expenses. This is a potluck. The donations will be subsidized by McLean County Chapter of Thrivent Financial Chapter for Lutherans. Any checks can be made out with these abbreviations: McLean Cnty. Ch. of Thrivent Finc. Luth. Reminder - Adult volleyball is still being held at the Max School at 7 p.m. every Sunday night. Use the back door. The fee is minimal.
