Word has been received that a former Maxite, Dr. George Kapusta, 75, has passed away. He was raised in rural Max and was a professor at Southern Illinois University for 35 years. His home was in Carbondale, Illinois.
Word has also been received that the Over 55 french toast breakfast this past Sunday had a good turn and everything went well. Hoping all of you enjoyed 'eating out'.
Lila Fannik celebrated her birthday on Monday with a 'table-full' of friends. Her sister, Marge Scurlock, had her birthday the day before, on Sunday.
Tonight, Thursday April 24th at 7:30, there will be a Pops Concert at the Max Public School. The next day, Friday, the Kindergarten through 6th. grade classes will be having their Spring Dance at the school from 3:30 until 6 p.m. Don't forget the 6:00 Over 55 potluck also on Friday.

Coming up is the blood drive being sponsored by the Max Squard of Garrison-Max Ambulance. This will be held on Wednesday, May 7th from 2:00 until 7:00 at the fire hall in Max. Walk-ins are welcome.
