A big thankyou and welcome home to DiNell Polsfut, daughter of Donnie and Karen Polsfut.

Over 55 Club is having their May meeting at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 9th., at the Senior Center in Max.

Saturday, May 10th., has several events going on in Max. It is Older American's Day so the Over 55 Club is having Kyle's Greenhouse coming with their plants and garden supplies. Have a piece of pie and coffee while you are at the Senior Center too. This has been an annual event the Over 55 Club has put on for many years now. You will find notices around town regarding this event.

Another big event is the baby shower for Cooper Wayne Kittleson, son of Kevin and Sarah (Wilcox) Kittleson. This will be held on this Saturday, May 10th, at 2 p.m. in the basement of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Max. Please bring a pair of baby socks (for a game.) All are welcome to attend. Tara Kendall Thomas will be set up at the Max Civic Center to take pictures on this day also.

There is a big 'thankyou' coming from Lila Fannik to her family and friends who helped her celebrate her 81st. birthday at her home. The cards, gifts and phone calls made her day! Her daughter Virginia flew home to surprise her!

Several from Max and the area attended Florene and Maurice Knudtson's 50th. anniversary open house this past Sunday. This was held in the Douglas Senior Center. Congratulations Florene and Maurice!

Coming up is the retirement open house for Joyce Malling on May 18th. from 2 to 4 in the Max School commons area. No gifts!

Margaret Zaderaka enjoyed their granddaughter Zoe's violin concert Thursday evening at the Magic City Campus gym. There was a very large crowd there to listen to and enjoy the over 100 violins and other stringed instruments. Zoe is the daughter of Marlo Zaderaka. The granddaughter of Janice and Brian Kersten also took part in this concert.

If you will look on the back of your blue May community calendar you will see there are several Mother's Day ideas for you! Pictures by Tara Thomas at the Civic Center and a Mother's Day Buffet at the cafe.

Once the full week-end is over, it is time once again to take in the Max Civic Club meeting. This is held at the Civic Center at 7:30 on Monday, the 12th. And further into the week is the Max High School's Pops Concert at Thursday, May 15th at 7:30 at the school.
