The enormous pop can that has become a wintertime fixture on Elbow Lake along Highway 83 in Max is again ready to take a dive! Bremer Bank, Bremer Insurance, and Reservation Telephone are the annual sponsors of the Max Plunge--the yearly guessing game that predicts when the specially-made jumbo can will fall through the ice. The Plunge is put on yearly by the Max Park Board to promote the Max Community and to raise funds for Max parks.

2011 Plunge Winners
The Max Plunge ended at 8:37 pm on April 22nd, 2011 when the jumbo can poised on the ice of Elbow Lake in Max fell through. This is the latest fall date in the history of this annual contest.
The top four winners were:
1st: Clarey Tryhus of Minot - $500
2nd: Rosalie Day of Max - $250
3rd: Debbie Rasmussen of Parshall - $100
4th: Diane Moore of Huntington Beach, CA - $50
